The 'Choju-giga' (Scrolls of Frolicking Animals) features charming anthropomorphized animals. We've designed these dishcloths with rabbits, frogs, and monkeys that appear in this work, which is often called Japan's oldest manga.
Nara's traditional craft 'Kaya-ori' is a loosely woven, thin fabric that predates the Nara period, originally used for mosquito nets (kaya) with the clever purpose of 'letting the breeze in while keeping mosquitoes out.'
These five-layer cotton Kaya-ori cloths become softer with each use, offering excellent absorbency and remarkable durability. Perfect for drying dishes, wiping surfaces, or as hand towels.
They also make thoughtful gifts for any occasion.
Material: Cotton 100%, Five layers of Kaya-ori fabric stacked together.
Edge finishing: Serged seam finish (machine)
Size: Approx. 40 x 30cm
Size of package: 17 x 17cm
