Hand-work containers focused on usability and appearance.
We created containers for hand-work that prioritise both usability and appearance. The design was created by product designer Shibata Fumie. The corners feature large curves, making them easy to wash and mix contents. The body uses enamelware, which is ideal for food storage, paired with a warm wooden lid. It has a natural appearance that suits any kitchen, Japanese or Western style. In addition to making pickled plums and miso, it can be used for storing rice and dried goods, and for pickling vegetables and kimchi.
Height: 18cm
Product Handling
【Enamel Container, Wooden Lid, Seal Lid - General】
- Always wash with water or lukewarm water before use.
- After use, wash with lukewarm water or cold water using a soft sponge with neutral kitchen detergent.
- Do not use metal scrubbers or abrasive powders as they may scratch the surface.
- Dishwasher safe for enamel container only.
- Do not use in microwaves.
- When containing contents, lift from the bottom.
【Enamel Container】
- The surface is glass-like, so impacts from bumping or dropping may cause cracks or damage. Handle with care.
- Due to handcrafting, there are individual variations in glaze application, and the surface may have unevenness or the underglaze (black) may show through. Also, dust particles (black spots) may adhere and bake on during high-temperature firing, but this does not affect usage.
- The underside rim is difficult to glaze, so rust may occur from salt or plum vinegar. Wipe occasionally with a cloth during pickle storage. There may be roughness or indentations, so be careful of injury when touching with bare hands.
- While the material can be used on gas flames, the main body becomes very hot with burn risk - use extreme caution. (Not compatible with IH.)
- Due to the thin steel plate specification, use low to medium heat and avoid prolonged cooking or dry heating.
【Wooden Lid】
- Avoid strong impacts as they may cause deformation or damage.
- Do not soak for extended periods. After washing, wipe with a soft dry cloth and store after thorough drying in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
- As this is a natural material, the wood's texture and aroma will change over time. Please enjoy this as part of the natural aging process.
- Individual variations in wood grain and color exist - please enjoy each piece's unique character.
- Remove the lid when using on heat sources.
【Seal Lid】
- Do not use in dishwashers as this may cause deformation.
- Do not wash with water too hot to touch.
- Remove the lid when using on heat sources.

Noda Horo's manufacturing is focused on Japanese products
Noda Horo, the maker of the containers, is an enamel manufacturer that is committed to using products made in Japan and carries out all processes of enamel making in-house. Although the containers are simply shaped, delicate press molding techniques were required to create the curves that maintain stability and make stirring easy. To achieve a beautiful finish, the glass glaze is applied by hand one by one. It is a tool that is packed with advanced craftsmanship due to its simplicity. (The image shows an "easy-to-stir enamel pickle container.")

Large curves make it easy to handle
Containers for handicrafts have curved corners because they are easier to handle when they have no corners. They are easy to wash and easy to mix. Capacity is 4L. This is an easy size for beginners to use, such as making 1-2kg of pickled plums or 3kg of miso paste.

Enamel containers do not absorb odors and are resistant to salt and acid
"Enamel" is a material made by applying a glassy glaze to metal and firing it. While retaining the strength of iron, the glassy glaze applied gives it a rust-resistant effect and a smooth luster and beauty. It is resistant to acids and salt, and does not easily absorb odors or stains, making it easy to clean, making it ideal for storing food. Another plus point is that it is lightweight, highly durable, and easy to handle.

The beautiful presence that makes pickling time more enjoyable
Modern handcraft that celebrates the act and time of pickling. The beautiful presence of the container is also an essential element. The combination of the warm, milky white container and wooden lid softens the kitchen atmosphere when placed. With its neutral appearance, we recommend it not only for traditional Japanese handcrafts but also for pickling vegetables or making kimchi. Made of enamel, it can be used not only for making pickled plums, miso, and pickles, but also as a rice storage container or for preserving dried goods. Please freely enjoy handcrafting and food storage.
