Nakagawa's Hana Fukin: A Beautiful and Functional Rebirth of Nara's Kaya Fabric
Nakagawa's Hana Fukin is a beautiful and functional reinvention of kaya (mosquito net) fabric, a traditional specialty of Nara. By harnessing the fabric's natural breathability, absorbency, and quick-drying properties, we've successfully given new life to this material whose demand had declined with changing times.

Superior Absorbency and Quick-Drying Properties
Despite being four times larger than conventional dishcloths at 58cm×58cm, these cloths are thinner and dry more quickly because they're crafted from two layers of loosely-woven kaya fabric. They absorb moisture effectively when folded and dry rapidly when spread out, keeping them hygienic. The cloth will shrink slightly after initial use.

Increasingly Soft with Use
New cloths are crisp due to their starch coating, but with repeated washing and use, they develop a wonderfully soft and gentle texture. From drying dishes to food preparation, and eventually as a countertop or cleaning cloth—this versatile cloth serves many purposes as its character evolves with use.

A Versatile Helper Throughout the Home
Beyond the conventional roles of drying dishes or wiping surfaces, these cloths excel in food preparation tasks such as straining broth or removing moisture from vegetables. Please enjoy your Hana Fukin until it's thoroughly well-worn. Perfect for draining small washing-up items. Simply hang afterwards for quick drying. Excellent absorbency makes it ideal as an everyday towel. Its quick-drying properties ensure comfort even in humid summer conditions. The cloth truly comes into its own when slightly worn. After faithfully serving as a dishcloth, it continues to function as a cleaning cloth until the very end.
