Handling Precautions

●Tadafusa Knives boast a sharper edge than all-stainless steel knives, but require a little more care in daily maintenance. Because the cutting edge is made of SLD steel, rust may occur depending on care and storage conditions. Rust may even occur overnight depending on care and storage conditions. Enjoy the comfortable sharpness while also maintaining and resharpening the knife.

●After use, thoroughly wash the entire knife with hot water, wipe dry, and store in a safe place.

●Be especially careful when cutting highly salty or acidic foods such as pickles or lemons.

●Do not place in the dishwasher, dish dryer, microwave, or oven. This may cause damage.

●Even a blade that starts out sharp will gradually lose its sharpness with use. Please sharpen it with a whetstone at least once every three months. If you're not good at sharpening, leave it to our workshop.

●To maintain sharpness, it is essential to sharpen your knives regularly. You can sharpen your knives yourself, but we also offer resharpening services at Tadafusa's workshop for a fee. The knife box includes a "Knife Inquiry Form" that doubles as an instruction manual. You can check the form to determine the resharpening fee. The knife box can be mailed with the knife in its original condition, so we recommend keeping it. ●Details on how to request a resharpening service and contact information are listed on the included "Knife Inquiry Form." If you have any questions, please contact Tadafusa Knife Workshop directly. Notice●The handle is made of natural materials, so the color and texture may vary slightly depending on the product. ●For detailed handling instructions, please refer to the instruction manual included with the product.

Exceptional Sharpness—Even Tomatoes Slice Cleanly

This knife cuts cleanly through tomatoes with ease. The rounded handle is designed to fit comfortably in women's hands, making it particularly easy to use.

Hidden Heritage Craftsmanship

The handle is crafted from chestnut wood, chosen for its hardness and resistance to decay. Furthermore, Tadafusa's patented antibacterial carbonized wood technology transforms this chestnut into a handle material that retains the natural texture of wood whilst creating an environment where bacteria cannot proliferate and ultimately perish—achieving a carbonization level just short of becoming charcoal.

The blade utilizes a special alloy containing chromium, carbon, molybdenum, and vanadium in quantities comparable to stainless steel, resulting in a hard yet resilient material. This composition maintains exceptional sharpness over time. The blade features Tadafusa's original stamp.

The Essential Three

Kitchen knives can be overwhelming—with countless varieties and specialized options making it difficult to know where to begin. However, there exists a "fundamental trio" that provides everything you need: a bread knife, a 170mm multi-purpose knife, and a 125mm multi-purpose knife (petty knife). Designed by product designer Fumie Shibata, these knives feature meticulously considered forms that remain understated enough for daily use—an appealing quality for everyday essentials. The logo mark incorporates fire tongs used by craftspeople, designed by graphic designer Masaaki Hiromura.
