A Seto-yaki Long Incense Burner That Blends Into Daily Life

This Seto-yaki 'naga-koro' (long incense burner) has a clean presence that harmonizes with any room. It's used by placing ash in the rectangular vessel and burning incense sticks over it.

The included lid prevents ash from scattering, making maintenance simple. Since incense sticks can be laid flat within it, there's no concern about them falling over, allowing for carefree use.

Handling Precautions

※The appropriate amount of ash is about half of the container.
※Ash is not food.
※Keep out of reach of infants and young children, and be careful not to accidentally get it in the mouth, ears, eyes, etc.
※Do not use for purposes other than intended.
※When opening the ash bag, be careful as the contents may scatter.
※As the ash is light and can easily fly about, we recommend opening in a place without wind.
※Be careful not to inhale the ash.
※The incense may extinguish due to lack of oxygen if there is too little ash or if multiple incense sticks are burned.
※Avoid using or storing in places with high temperature and humidity. This may cause deterioration.
※If too much ash accumulates, discard and use an appropriate amount.
※After using the ash for some time, sift it with something like a tea strainer to remove debris and burnt residue for softer, more comfortable use.
※Replace the ash if it becomes hardened or if there is too much unburnt incense remaining.
※Commercially available Yoshino incense ash is suitable for burning.
※As these are handmade using natural materials, please understand there may be colour variations and size differences.
※The bottom surface is rough and may scratch floors or placement surfaces. Be careful not to drag it.
※After use, incense tar may adhere to the inside, especially the underside of the lid, which may cause stains if touched.
※If concerned, remove with a sponge using water-diluted neutral detergent.
※After cleaning, wipe off moisture thoroughly with a cloth and dry completely.
※When burning incense, check that there are no flammable materials nearby.
※Be especially careful not to leave unattended during use, as there is a risk of burns or fire if touched or knocked over by children or pets.
※After use, open the lid to confirm that the fire is completely extinguished. Embers may remain in the ash.
※Avoid using in places with strong winds.
※The ash will turn black after burning.

A Gentle Appearance Suitable for Any Setting

With rounded corners creating a soft impression, this design is easy to use in any location. As the lid conceals the contents, it can be left out permanently. Place it in your living room, bedroom, entrance, or wherever you prefer.

Created with a Seto-yaki Kiln

This incense burner was made in collaboration with Mizugi Seitojo, a Seto-yaki kiln skilled in creating boxed forms. The shaping utilizes pressure casting, a traditional Seto-yaki technique. The result is an incense burner that combines durability with simple beauty.
