This beckoning cat was created by Chugai Toen, located in the Seto-yaki pottery region with over 1000 years of history, out of a desire to make beckoning cats feel more accessible.

While the form is simple, the distinctive shape of the hand and the use of pottery and porcelain as materials allow for a wide variety of colour variations through glazing. This finish is possible only because it condenses the unique history and techniques of Seto, which are not found in other production areas.
