A Small Mino-yaki Tea Cup to Cradle in Your Palm
This compact 'Koro Tea Cup' was created in collaboration with Minami Kiln of Mino. It features a simple presence that harmonizes with any tea-drinking occasion. When held in your palm, you can experience the texture and feel of the clay and glaze, along with the warmth of the tea, engaging all five senses.
With a capacity of approximately 100ml, similar to a traditional guinomi cup, it encourages you to enjoy the rhythm of pouring and savoring multiple small servings.
Material: Ceramic
Weight: Approx. 132g
Capacity: Approx. 90cc
Diameter: 7.5cm
Height: 6.5cm
※Microwave safe.
[Before use]
※To prevent staining in the crazing (fine cracks on the surface), we recommend performing the following "Medome" (seasoning) process:
●Put the dish in a pot with rice water (water from washing rice) or water with flour, and heat over medium heat.
●Just before boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer for about 15 minutes.
●Turn off the heat and let it cool completely in the rice/flour water.
●Wash well and dry thoroughly.
[When using]
※Avoid sudden heating or cooling as it is sensitive to rapid temperature changes. Soaking the dish in water to allow it to absorb sufficient moisture before use helps prevent stains and odors.
[After use]
※Dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity. Overloading may cause damage, so please use with care.
※Do not scrub hard with abrasive detergents or metal scourers, as this may cause scratches. Wash with a soft sponge.
※Avoid soaking. After washing, wipe with a soft, dry cloth, dry thoroughly, and store in a well-ventilated place.
※Ceramics are absorbent, so moisture may remain inside even when they appear dry. To prevent mold, stains, and odors, please ensure thorough drying.
[Notes]
※Be careful of chipping or cracking due to strong impacts.
※For safety, stop using the product if it becomes cracked.
※Crazing (fine cracks on the surface) may appear over time with use, but this does not affect usability. Please enjoy it as part of the product's character.
※As each item is finished by hand, there may be individual differences in colour and shape.

A Versatile Appearance Suitable for Any Setting

Ceramics Supporting Daily Dining with Japan's Largest Market Share
Mino-yaki refers to all ceramics produced in the eastern region of Mino Province (present-day Gifu Prefecture). Throughout different eras, potters have developed new glazes and built techniques to suit people's preferences, resulting in pottery with an extraordinary range of shapes and methods. Today, Gifu Prefecture accounts for approximately 60% of Japan's ceramic market share, developing into the country's largest production area and becoming an essential presence on Japanese dining tables.
