Echizen Tile Ware is tableware that adapts the earthy character and techniques of tiles nurtured by Echizen's natural environment. It embraces the inherent character of clay with its undulating expressions and rustic colours. The presence that has blended into people's lives as part of Echizen's landscape also harmonizes with dining tables and complements various dishes.
Having inherited the strength that has protected from rain, wind, and snow for 50 to 100 years on rooftops, you can use it without worry—another delightful feature. Please enjoy it in a wide range of settings, from everyday individual plates to special occasion entertaining.

Product Handling
- Due to the nature of pottery, there are individual differences in color, shape, and earthiness. Therefore, there may be slight differences from the photo. Also, the appearance of the product may differ slightly depending on the environment (monitor) of the computer, etc.
- Please be careful when handling as dragging may scratch furniture, etc.
- Microwave and oven safe.
- When serving dishes that use oil, stains may appear on the dish.
- Soaking in water for a while before use will make it less likely to stain.
- When using with metal cutlery, the dish may be scratched.
- Please note that leaving it with dirt on it may cause mold and stains.
- After use, wash as soon as possible, dry thoroughly, and store in a dry place.
About Quality
- Echizen tiles are made from clay harvested in the Hokuriku region. Mass-produced pottery is often made with a blend of clay that is less likely to produce individual differences because it seeks a uniform appearance, but by making the most of the original earthenware with as little modification as possible, we have created pottery with a unique look and feel that is unlike any other.

Echizen tiles, which protect against rain, wind, and snow, are characterized by being well-fired and having low water absorption among domestic tiles. This strength translates to the tableware as well, making it compatible with microwaves, ovens, and dishwashers. Additionally, since the glaze extends to the back surface, it's resistant to mold - a delightful feature. While maintaining the refined elegance characteristic of flat plates, they also possess the durability for everyday use. They're stackable and space-efficient for storage, making it recommended to collect and use multiple pieces.

"Echizen Ceramica" - preserving the regional landscape through Echizen tiles
Echizen tiles have been produced since ancient times in the Echizen district of Fukui Prefecture, one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns region for Echizen-yaki pottery. Echizen Ceramica was founded in 1952 as a manufacturer of Echizen tiles and has continued to preserve the regional landscape ever since. With their own clay processing facility, they handle everything from clay preparation to firing in-house, specializing in generous craftsmanship that embraces the earthy character and individual variations characteristic of pottery.
