※Dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity. Overloading may cause damage, so please use with care.

The Secret Science of Breathable Clay
The clay used in Iga-yaki pottery contains countless microscopic pores invisible to the naked eye. These pores absorb excess moisture, and when reheated in the microwave, they release this stored moisture, regulating the moisture balance to keep your rice fluffy and delicious even the next day. The unglazed underside of the lid absorbs moisture more readily, preventing rice from becoming sticky.
Two Sizes Available
With lids included, these bowls eliminate the need for cling film and can be stacked for storage. We offer two sizes: a smaller size for a single serving of rice, and a larger donburi size that holds about one cup (180ml) of rice and can be used as a bowl for rice dishes. When purchased in different sizes, they can be nested for compact storage.
We Tested Rice Capacity
Here's 120g of rice in the single serving size compared to a standard rice bowl. The single serving size comfortably holds 180g with a gentle mound—the perfect portion. The donburi size holds 250g, making it ideal for rice bowl dishes like oyakodon or katsudon. The donburi size can fit up to 450g—enough for three people. (When filled to 80% capacity, it holds one cup of rice, approximately 350g)
Designed to Be Used Directly as Tableware
We created these with a shape and design that highlights the clay's natural character, allowing them to be brought directly to the table after reheating. When held, the unglazed bottom offers a different tactile experience compared to the glazed sides. The single serving size can function as a small donburi bowl when filled with about 120g of rice. True to its name, the donburi size is perfect for rice bowl dishes, with ample room for generous toppings.
