Handling Precautions

Handling Precautions

Care

●After washing, thoroughly wipe off excess moisture with a soft cloth as soon as possible and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

●Avoid soaking.

●Avoid using a dishwasher or dryer.

Notice

●Since each piece is made of natural wood and finished by hand, there will be individual differences.

●As this product is unpainted, color may change or stains may appear over time.

●To clean, apply a thin layer of cooking oil to the entire surface to create a glossy finish.

●If pilling or stains are a concern, sand the surface with water-resistant sandpaper (approximately 200-400 grit) while moistening it with water.

A jam spatula made with a shamoji workshop

A jam spatula made with a shamoji workshop. Using a spoon often leaves jam trapped in the bowl, but the shallow, flat spatula shape resolves this small inconvenience. Each piece is carefully carved from Japanese cherry wood and finished uncoated. With use, the wood deepens in colour and develops a soft sheen.

Designed with ease of use in mind.

The flat, shallow form prevents jam from being left behind, a common issue with spoons. Carved one by one from Japanese cherry wood and left uncoated, it gradually gains depth of colour and a natural gloss through everyday use.
