A Small Seto-yaki Tea Cup to Cradle in Your Palm
This compact 'Koro Tea Cup' was created in collaboration with Mizugi Seitojo pottery of Seto. It takes inspiration from the 'kutsukata' (shoe-shaped) tea bowl used in tea ceremony. When held in your palm, you can experience the texture and feel of the clay and glaze, along with the warmth of the tea, engaging all five senses.
With a capacity of approximately 100ml, similar to a traditional guinomi cup, it encourages you to enjoy the rhythm of pouring and savouring multiple small servings.
Material: Ceramic
Weight: Approx. 127g
Capacity: Approx. 80cc
Diameter: 7.0cm
Height: 5.0cm
※Crazing will develop with aging. Dark-coloured beverages may make the crazing more noticeable. This does not affect usability, so please enjoy it as part of the ceramic's character.
※Microwave safe.
[Before use]
※To prevent staining in the crazing (fine cracks on the surface), we recommend performing the following "Medome" (seasoning) process:
●Put the dish in a pot with rice water (water from washing rice) or water with flour, and heat over medium heat.
●Just before boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer for about 15 minutes.
●Turn off the heat and let it cool completely in the rice/flour water.
●Wash well and dry thoroughly.
[When using]
※Avoid sudden heating or cooling as it is sensitive to rapid temperature changes. Soaking the dish in water to allow it to absorb sufficient moisture before use helps prevent stains and odors.
[After use]
※Dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity. Overloading may cause damage, so please use with care.
※Do not scrub hard with abrasive detergents or metal scourers, as this may cause scratches. Wash with a soft sponge.
※Avoid soaking. After washing, wipe with a soft, dry cloth, dry thoroughly, and store in a well-ventilated place.
※Ceramics are absorbent, so moisture may remain inside even when they appear dry. To prevent mold, stains, and odors, please ensure thorough drying.
[Notes]
※Be careful of chipping or cracking due to strong impacts.
※For safety, stop using the product if it becomes cracked.
※Crazing (fine cracks on the surface) may appear over time with use, but this does not affect usability. Please enjoy it as part of the product's character.
※As each item is finished by hand, there may be individual differences in colour and shape.

Hand-Crafted Irregularity and Vibrant Yellow That Brightens Your Table
This Seto-yaki tea cup is inspired by the kutsukata tea bowl, known for its characteristic asymmetry. After creating the base shape with a mould, each cup is individually hand-adjusted to create a unique personality. The vibrant yellow color is another distinctive feature that adds a bright accent to your table. Special attention has been given to glazing even the foot of the cup, ensuring a smooth feel without roughness when cradled in your palm.

Seto: Japan's Premier Ceramic Region That Gave Birth to 'Setomono'
Seto has over 1,000 years of history as one of Japan's foremost pottery regions. Both pottery and porcelain flourish here, and the diverse ceramics produced have led to 'setomono' becoming a general term for ceramics in Japan. The abundant, high-quality white clay enables the creation of ceramics with beautiful glazes and decorations.
