A vessel that nestles in your hands.
This vessel can be used as a yunomi, ochoko, soba choko, or small bowl.
Suigetsu means "water and moon" or "moon reflected in water."
In Zen terminology, "the moon reflected in water" is said to "represent the state of the Zen mind."
Holding the palm-sized suigetsu vessel filled with tea or sake and gazing into it—this is a vessel that brings comfort to your daily moments of peace.
It features higher heat resistance and durability than conventional lacquerware, making it recommended as an everyday table staple.
■ Dishwasher Compatible
Dishwasher-compatible lacquer developed through extensive testing. Uses 100% natural lacquer without any chemical coatings.
■ Echizen Hard Lacquer
It's said that lacquer reaches its maximum hardness 100 years after application, requiring many years for complete curing.
"Echizen Hard Lacquer" is lacquer that can withstand dishwashers, achieved through industry-academia-government collaboration between Fukui Prefecture and Fukui University to create a hard coating.
It's finished with unique shapes and beautiful colours to suit contemporary dining, making it suitable for use as everyday tableware.
■ Shinnuri (Pure Lacquer) Technique
The ""shinnuri technique"" of filtering lacquer repeatedly to carefully remove dust and finishing the coating in a single application without leaving brush marks is characterised by its luxurious finish.
