A rice storage container made from paulownia wood that keeps rice delicious. Paulownia has natural insect-repelling properties and its porous fibers make it very lightweight with excellent moisture-regulating capabilities. It's the perfect container material, especially for humid Japanese summer. This is made by Kamoshika in Komono-cho, Mie Prefecture. From this region, which has long been the production center of Banko-yaki pottery for tableware and food-related tools, they aim to share living culture worth preserving for the future. By manufacturing tools that convey this culture, their mission is to deliver happiness through dining.
For Delicious Rice Storage
- Store in a cool, dark place with good ventilation.
- As moisture accumulates in lower areas, store as high as possible.
- Storage under the sink is not recommended due to very high humidity.
- When adding new rice, first empty the contents and air-dry for 1-2 days to prevent insect infestation.
Usage Precautions
- Paulownia wood is very soft and scratches easily, so handle with care.
- Avoid use in high temperature, high humidity environments as this may cause mold.
- Avoid use in areas exposed to direct sunlight or fan heaters as this may cause product deformation or cracking.
- Never use for purposes other than intended as this may cause unexpected accidents.
Care Instructions
- For daily care, wipe with a tightly wrung cloth and do not wash with water.
