Among the countless bowls created throughout history, one of the most famous and praised as a masterpiece is the ""Nichigetsu (Sun-Moon bowl) Bowl"" by Rosanjin Kitaoji.

The Bowl is a collaborative masterpiece between Rosanjin Kitaoji and the second-generation Sekisai Tsuji, a master lacquer craftsman of Kaga Yamanaka-nuri. The Tsuji family history dates back to the Edo period. The first Sekisai Tsuji began as a wood turner. The second Sekisai Tsuji became the leading figure in Kaga gold lacquer during the Meiji period, building his reputation as both wood turner and lacquer craftsman. Simultaneously, he taught lacquerware form and gold lacquer techniques to Rosanjin Kitaoji, who demonstrated diverse talents as an artist and gourmet, and they refined each other's sensibilities. Eventually, the two collaborated at the Tsuji family workshop to create the masterpiece ""Nichigetsu-Bowl."" Since then, lacquerware tea implements by Sekisai Tsuji have continued to capture the hearts of many tea practitioners, becoming official suppliers to the three Sen tea schools through to the current generation (fifth).

THE Large Bowl was created by the current fifth-generation Sekisai Tsuji himself with his full cooperation. It has exactly the same shape as the Nichigetsu Bowl created in Rosanjin's era, with almost identical manufacturing processes. The only difference is that it doesn't feature ikkan-bari using washi paper. Made using horse chestnut wood through careful handwork.

Normally, it would be impossible to sell at this price, but the current Sekisai Tsuji endorsed this project, making it possible through limited quantity production.
