Handling Precautions

※Microwave safe
【Before Use】

To prevent dirt from getting into the crazing (fine surface cracks), we recommend the following sealing procedure:

  • Put rice washing water and the container in a pot and heat over medium heat
  • Just before it boils, turn the heat down to low and simmer for about 15 minutes
  • Turn off the heat and leave it in the rice washing water to cool to room temperature
  • Wash thoroughly and dry thoroughly
【During Use】
  • Avoid rapid heating and cooling as it is vulnerable to sudden temperature changes. Soaking in water to absorb sufficient moisture before use will help prevent stains and odors.
【After Use】
  • Dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity. Be careful not to overcrowd as this can cause breakage.
  • Wash with a soft sponge as scrubbing hard with abrasive cleaners or metal scrubbers may cause scratches.
  • Avoid soaking. After washing, wipe with a soft dry cloth, dry thoroughly, and store in a well-ventilated place.
【Important Notes】
  • Be careful of chipping and cracking from strong impacts.
  • Stop using if cracks or fissures appear for safety reasons.
  • Crazing (fine surface cracks) may develop with use, but this does not affect functionality and can be enjoyed as part of the item's character.
  • As this is handcrafted, there may be individual variations in color and shape.

It goes well with homemade ramen with lots of ingredients.

We've made it deeper than regular ramen bowls, creating a design that prevents spilling even with generous amounts of ingredients like vegetable-packed ramen.

Traditional Techniques Create Nostalgic Patterns

Koishiwara-yaki pottery from Toho Village, Asakura District, Fukuoka Prefecture has established the "beauty of utility" since the Edo period as everyday household items. These vessels are characterized by simple, warm designs featuring decorative techniques such as tobi-kanna (flying plane), hakeme (brush marks), and kushime (comb patterns). We collaborated with "Hayakawa Kiln," a pottery workshop operating in this Koishiwara region, to create these ramen bowls.
