A round bamboo tray basket made on Sado Island, Niigata Prefecture. It is a product of Matsunoya, a hardware wholesaler that handles household goods and was founded in 1945. The more you use it with love, the more its color and texture changes, which is one of the charms of natural bamboo.
Various uses, such as serving baskets and steamers.
Each basket is woven by hand by a craftsman using the finely woven "gozame weave" technique. It has a flat and shallow shape like a tray, and can be used to serve rice balls, bread, and soba noodles, or as a steamer by filling a large pot with water and placing the basket over it. During hot pot season, it can also be used as a serving basket to arrange cut vegetables.

Handling Precautions
Handling Precautions
*Because it is made of natural materials, the color, shape, and size may vary slightly depending on the time of arrival.
*Due to the nature of the material, there may be black spots, cracks, splinters, and thorns. Please note that this is not a defective product.
*When using as a steaming strainer, fill the clay pot with water, place the strainer on top, and then place the ingredients on it. It does not fit snugly, so it can be used effectively by placing the ingredients evenly from the center to the outside. *Please wet it thoroughly with water before use. It will be less likely to absorb dirt and oil. Please dry it well after use.
